The pioneer settlers of Waterford consisted of a few English families. They discovered this beautiful part of Wisconsin in 1837 and made it their home. The Fox River was forded easily at this location; hence the name Waterford. About the year 1842, a few Irish families found their way to the area and settled in Waterford. The history of this area is important to the people who make Waterford their home. The fourth and fifth grade students of Maple View School in Waterford have recently completed a project for the Sesquicentennial celebration. They researched the history of our village, put together essays and artwork for public presentation and built a float for the Fourth of July Parade. We invite you to view the students' efforts in their Sesquicentennial Project.Kid's Sesquicentennial Project
