Map of Tichigan Lake

TICHIGAN LAKE... Lake Tichigan is part of the Fox River System. The waterway has a surface area of 1133 acres and a maximum depth of 63 feet. Most of the shoreline is privately owned. The 268 acre Northeast Bay is known as Tichigan Lake, while the rest is the river and its backwater. The bottom is muck and sand. The deep lake is primarily sand and gravel. The water is fairly murky and quite fertile. The water quality is improving yearly since the installation of sewers in the Waterford area in the late 80's. The lake/river is popular for recreation because of its size and the picturesque scenery of the Fox River waterway. Fishing includes abundant panfish along with walleye, bass and catfish. Boating is available from Big Bend south to Waterford. The river runs from central Wisconsin to central Illinois.
TICHIGAN CORNERS... A "nice spot in the road", is an unincorporated community that is the hub of the Lake Tichigan area.
